Recipe: Easy Grilled Peaches

Grilled peaches.
SHARE

This easy dessert celebrates one of the best fruits of the summer season—peaches. We love this tasty grilled dessert because there’s less kitchen clean-up and you can cook them along with the Lemon Basil Turkey Burgers

Serves

Serves: 4

Serving size: 2 peach halves (1 peach)

Ingredients

  • 4 medium-firm to firm peaches, halved and pitted
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Grilled peaches.

Instructions

Preheat grill over high heat. Clean and oil grates.

After halving and pitting peaches, slice off a small piece of the round portion on the uncut side of the peach, so that it will rest flat on a plate. Brush peach halves with olive oil on the cut side and sprinkle liberally with cinnamon.

Place peaches cut-side down on the grill and reduce heat to medium high. Grill for 4–5 minutes on a gas grill (about 7 minutes on a wood grill) until grill marks form and the peaches are golden and have softened a bit.

Remove from heat and serve.

Serving suggestion: serve cut-side up and top with a dollop of vanilla or plain non-fat yogurt, a drizzle of balsamic vinegar or balsamic glaze, and a sprinkle of cinnamon.

MOBE kitchen tips:

  • Don’t skip oiling the fruit, as this will prevent it from sticking to the grill.
  • Choose peaches that are relatively firm, so they hold their shape when grilling.
  • When cutting the peaches in half, slice all around the peach, then twist. This isn’t as easy as it seems and will likely require a bit of muscle. If your knife slices all the way through the pit, just scoop the pit halves out with a spoon.
  • Don’t have a grill? You can make these peaches on a grill pan on your stovetop.

Recipe notes:

  • If you have leftover peaches, they are wonderful chopped and served over oatmeal or yogurt the next morning.
  • Feel free to swap out another summer fruit for the peaches — we love grilling nectarines, plums, pineapple, and watermelon.
  • These peaches are also delicious topped with whipped cream.
